Software Engineer – Backend

mohemian is currently looking for a Software Engineer – Backend to join our team in Innsbruck, that is passionate about crafting sophisticated, maintainable technical solutions. • Build scalable and secure backend services and APIs using Java & Spring Boot.
• Ensure reliability, security, and high performance across distributed systems.
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and product teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Design and implement authentication and security mechanisms.
• Take ownership of the entire software lifecycle, from requirements engineering to development, testing, release, and continuous improvement.
• Guide and support teammates through code reviews, technical discussions, and mentorship.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, automation, and cloud infrastructure to improve software delivery and developer productivity.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction in an engineering culture where knowledge sharing, collaboration, and technical excellence drive team success.
• Maintain and improve existing codebases with a focus on quality and sustainability.

• Professional experience in software engineering or a relevant university-level degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong experience in Java backend development, including Spring Boot and Spring Security.
• Proficiency in relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in optimizing performance, reliability, and automation.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and cloud-based deployments.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written), with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts.
• Strong understanding of API design, system integration, and testing strategies.
• Familiarity with supporting languages like Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Swift, or Kotlin is beneficial.
• Experience or interest in mobile development and web technologies to bridge mobile and server-side engineering is beneficial.
• Familiarity with security protocols and cryptography is a plus.
